Famous tiger dance of South Western Coast of India

The stunning picture shown above is the famous tiger dance of this part of the country. It is called “Huli Vesha” in Kannada language, in Malayalam language it is called as “puli kali” while in Tulu language, it is called as “pili vesha” and in Konkani language it is called “vaga vesu”. 5 to 10 people painting their body with real paint dance like tigers. It is said that when tigers are happy they dance in that way. Another picture above shows how real tigers merrily fight with each other. This dance is performed during Dassara and Krishna Ashtmai in Mangalore and the surrounding area while in Malabar, a paert of kerala State, which is adjecent to Mangalore, it is performed during Onam season.
